When we first meet a potential client in our coaching business, one of the early questions we ask “is your company on the right path”?
Every company can only be in a version of one of three conditions:growing, declining, or bumping along, up a quarter, down a quarter etc.
When we ask that question of a potential client we usually get the answer, “my company is growing”. Then we ask, “what is growing”? The only answer that is meaningful is “profits”. However, we continue to be amazed when a business owner answers that sales or number of employees are growing but doesn’t know if profits are growing.
