How Can Small Business Owners Deal with All the Email?

If it seems like email is running your life, this segment of Dirty Secrets of Small Business is for you! Jack Mencini and Adam Sonnhalter co-hosts of the podcast and coaches for their business Maximum Value Partners answer the difficult HOW question around dealing with all the emails coming constantly into your inbox.

Jack suggests to try ignoring the emails until you are ready to slot out about 20 minutes to answer them or delete them. Jack and Adam also offer the idea that you set up a defined time to respond to emails once or twice in a day (e.g. first thing in the morning and once in the afternoon/evening). Your position as the small business owner isn’t to respond to every email coming through. You need to be selective with your time and your responses, if needed.

“If the email isn’t like a crisis, you can answer it in 24 hours,” recommends Jack. “You be the master of your email not the ping of “You’ve Got Mail.”
