When was the last time you fired a client and how do you know when it is time to fire a client?
On the February 13th, Dirty Secrets of Small Business, Jack Mencini and Adam Sonnhalter discuss this timely topic of a hard decision in knowing when you need to fire your client.
Over the last 15 years, Jack and Adam have coached hundreds of small business clients from their Maximum Value Partners company, which focuses on helping small business owners.
They have seen and heard every story of how clients make the small business owners’ lives miserable. It is tough to finally decided to say enough is enough and disengage yourself from a client that is causing more headaches than profitability.
If it is any easier to wrestle with this hard decision, a common denominator is that the pain in the butt clients are probably pain in the butts for everyone. There are steps to take to help you make the necessary conversation when you finally say to the client, “our business relationship is over.” It may seem like a no-win situation, but in the long run, it will enable the small business owner to concentrate on doing good work with clients who in return recognize the value and expertise of working with their business.
